The eagerly-awaited update to Intellijel's Performance Case is finally here! It was already one of the best powered cases on the market and the new revision is even better, with improved power, a moveable 1U row and more I/O on the back. This is the new gold standard for a 7U 104HP case.

Manufacturer's description

Studio, cafe, stage, floor, coffee table—the 7U Performance case doesn't care where you play with it. Two 3U rows house and power all the modules you love (or one day hope to love), while the additional 1U row accommodates an extensive selection of specialized utility modules. Power, audio and MIDI/USB jacks on the back handle all the necessary inputs and outputs, ensuring all that rack space remains free for the "fun" modules. The lid has enough clearance to keep your system patched in transit, and two cases can be stacked with a set of joiners.

Second Generation

Intellijel 7U Performance Case Gen-2 is the ultimate base for a portable, performant Eurorack system. This second-generation version builds on the features that made the first generation so popular amongst professionals and hobbyists alike.

Each row of the 7U Performance Case Gen-2 is 104HP wide. There are two rows of 3U rack space, and one row of 1U rack space; the TPS135 MAX power supply has enough headers to connect 34 modules without using flying-bus cables.

Plays Nice with Others

7U Performance Case Gen-2 offers a ton of flexibility for connecting compatible modules. The eight rear TRS ¼” Neutrik jack connections provide plenty of options for connecting to mixers, FX, and other audio gear. Each jack and adjacent pairs of jacks have associated connection options for balanced mono, unbalanced stereo, or send / return configurations.

MIDI connectivity is covered as well with MIDI over USB-C, and three 5-pin jacks for MIDI In, Out, and Thru.

• 8 x 1/4″ TRS audio jacks — connect to a combination of 1U modules, such as the Stereo I/O 1U, Pedal I/O 1U, Stereo Line In 1U, Stereo Line Out 1U, XY IO 1U and Aux Mix 1U with more planned in the future.
• 3 x Full-size 5-pin DIN MIDI In, Out, Thru jacks and a USB-C MIDI port — connect to the MIDI 1U, Metropolix MIDI BackPack, or our legacy uMIDI 1U Module.
• Rocker switch and 2.5mm barrel plug for power entry.

More Power

The TPS135W MAX power supply board includes thirty-four shrouded power headers; more than enough to accommodate as many modules as can fit in the case. Improved performance also means less noise across your system.

• The included Meanwell 90-watt AC/DC adapter provides 85W of power spread across 3 power rails:
  • +12V output at 6A (72W max)
  • -12V output at 5A (60W max)
  • +5V output at 2A (10W max)

Case and Frame Features

The solid aluminium frame with ergonomic handle protects your modules from bumps and scratches while you’re on the move. The included lid covers your modules, leaving plenty of room to keep your system patched and ready to go. A recessed internal locking system makes it easy to securely attach and detach the lid.

The Performance Case offers multiple ergonomic positions within your workspace. The fold-away legs let you quickly angle up your case for easier viewing, patching, and panel access on a desktop.

Alternatively, you can attach the Performance Case to a stand/arm with a VESA mount, letting you get creative with the system’s positioning.

• Custom-made plastic carrying handle with ergonomic grip.
• Anodized aluminum lid with internal latching system, deep enough to close the case with cables patched in.
• Retractable, glass-filled nylon legs that can support the case at two different angles, or lay the case flat, of course.
• Spring-loaded latching accessory slots on top and bottom of the case. The slots can be used to attach two cases using a pair of 7U Joiner Plates.
• Rails can be repositioned to place the 1U Row at the top, middle or bottom of the case.
• VESA mounting holes for attaching to industry-standard monitor arm/stands (M4 100mm x 100mm pattern).

Accessorize

If you have two Performance cases — Gen-1 or Gen-2 — you can stack them together with the Joiner Plates (sold separately), for a massive 14U system. This is compatible with the original 104HP Performance Cases, too. Custom Gig Bags are also available.

Note: if you have re-positioned your 1U row to the middle or bottom position of your case, you may need longer ribbon cables to facilitate connections between 1U modules and the rear TRS or MIDI jacks, (3-pin, 6-pin, and 10-pin). Extended ribbon cable will be available soon.
