The Leveling EQ Amplifier is an end-of-chain audio processor designed to polish individual elements of a patch, stereo bus, or full master bus.
Inspired by the simple interfaces and pleasing sounds of two cornerstones of mixing, the LA-2A optical compressor and the 1073 EQ, the LEQA combines a compressor, an equalizer, and a modern Stereo Width Processor in one 14HP package.
Rather than being fully parametric, pre-defined curves and frequency selections make the art of mixing intuitive. Very little effort is needed for great sounding mixes.
The compressor mimics optical compression, which is a beautifully simple concept that yields incredibly musical results.
The EQ section is built to help accentuate and excite your mix, clear up muddled sounds, and increase the overall headroom.
The Stereo Width Processor adjusts the stereo image, letting you dial back a wide image into a cohesive sound, or push a normal stereo signal into "super stereo" territory. When used with mono sources, it can widen mono sources into stereo using a combination of psychoacoustic techniques.
The Leveling EQ Amplifier excels in live performances, studio work, subtle utility tasks, extreme sonic sculpting, audio "glue" to hold a patch together, and as an effect in its own right.
Stereo Width
- Mono to stereo conversion using a unique take on the Haas Effect
- Stereo field manipulation for tightening a stereo image, stereo-to- mono conversion, or larger-than-life super stereo effects
- Knob and CV control over stereo width
Equalization
- Four filters with tailored frequencies for maximum musicality
- Low-shelf, Mid-range bell, and High-shelf filters with boost/cut controls, plus an additional High-pass with selectable frequency
- Flexible routing that allows the EQ to be pre- or post-compressor section, or bypassed
- Global selectable EQ gain for detailed control or drastic effects
Compressor
- Compression and limiting inspired by optical compression from the 1970s, with two ratios: 3:1 (Comp) and 10:1 (Limit)
- Controllable gain reduction and make-up gain
- VU-meter displays gain reduction in real time
- Dry/wet mix control over compression for parallel compression application
- Bypass switch
Audio
- Frequency range (bypassed): 8Hz-24kHz ±0.1dB
- Maximum amplitude: 19.2Vpp
CV Input
- Voltage range 0V to +5V
DSP
- 96kHz sample rate, 24-bit codec with 32-bit internal processing

European Union orders:
- Standard shipping is free on orders over €100. Express shipping is available on orders over €100, and free on orders over €400.
Poland orders:
- Standard shipping is free on orders over 250 PLN. Express shipping is free on orders over 500 PLN.
What about local taxes?
By default prices on the site include sales tax at 20%. The precise sales tax rate for your country will be calculated at checkout.

All EU orders are shipped via UPS. We offer two service levels:
- UPS Standard – our default shipping option. Delivery times vary by country (see estimated delivery times below).
- UPS Express Saver – next business day delivery to most EU destinations.

Pre-orders
If a product is listed as a pre-order, it means we've ordered it from the supplier but it's not physically in stock yet. The product listing will include an estimated shipping date based on the best information we have from the supplier, but do bear in mind this is subject to change and is not a guaranteed date.
If you place an order containing a mixture of in-stock and pre-order items, we'll normally hold off on shipping anything until the pre-order item(s) have arrived, rather than splitting it into multiple shipments.
