Manufacturer's description

ECHON 6 is the world’s first polyphonic synthesizer based around analogue BBD resonators. Each of its six voices features a discrete BBD delay-line resonator that tracks the keyboard, producing organic overtones and complex harmonic depth. Allowing you to excite these resonators in creative ways, Morphor ECHON 6 will generate anything from plucked and bowed strings over leads and basses to big pads and evolving soundscapes. With comprehensive multi-timbral capabilities, a 9×32 modulation matrix and a full analogue signal path, ECHON 6 unites experimental sound design with classic polyphony.

Exciting exciter

ECHON 6’s exciter section combines fully analogue VCO waveforms with or without external audio, noise sources from continuous analogue white to sample-and-hold shaped by a loopable ADSR envelope with adjustable onset delay. This allows anything from sharp percussive transients to slowly emerging harmonic swells. The nature of the morphing sound controls and the wide range of quantised noise enable complex timbral sculpting even before the sound hits any filters.

Designed for natural resonance

The output of each exciter is fed into its resonator. Each resonator consists of a pitched delay-feedback network with analogue low-pass filters in both input and feedback paths, enabling dynamic control over tone, texture, and decay. The fine feedback control, polarity selection, panning, and wet/dry mix make every voice a living acoustic space within the stereo field.

Monster modulation matrix

The 9 × 32 modulation matrix links the envelope, LFOs, modwheel, velocity, polyphonic aftertouch, and key tracking to virtually any destination parameter. Global modulation attenuverters offer precise control over depth and polarity. Modulation depth is easily assigned by holding a modulation source key and adjusting the target parameter. Dedicated buttons allow you to mute, invert, or set modulation to maximum depth instantly. This innovative approach off on-the-fly assignments and direct interaction with your patch enables full modularity and stimulates exploration.

Built for studio and stage

Its voice grouping and unison modes push ECHON 6 beyond the traditional polyphonic configuration into layered, multi-timbral and personally optimised setups. With its six independent stereo voice outputs, full MIDI control, and a rugged aluminum enclosure ready for tabletop, 19″ rack, or VESA mounting, ECHON 6 is built for both stage and studio. It is a fully tactile instrument — no display, no distractions — inviting musicians to play, perform, and explore sound through pure hands-on control.

Pre-orders

If a product is listed as a pre-order, it means we've ordered it from the supplier but it's not physically in stock yet. The product listing will include an estimated shipping date based on the best information we have from the supplier, but do bear in mind this is subject to change and is not a guaranteed date.

If you place an order containing a mixture of in-stock and pre-order items, we'll normally hold off on shipping anything until the pre-order item(s) have arrived, rather than splitting it into multiple shipments.
